CODL stands for Centre for Open and Distance Learning. It is a support unit under Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) that focuses on facilitating open and distance education for both lecturers and students.
CODL is located at Kampus Teknologi of UTeM, Jalan Hang Tuah, Melaka. For exact directions, you may refer to the map available on the UTeM website.
CODL operates from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays). For specific appointments or bookings, it is advisable to contact the staff in advance.
CODL supports the development and delivery of open and distance learning at UTeM. Its main functions include:

Managing iStudio usage for video recording

Providing training and support for online teaching platforms

Facilitating learning access for remote students
CODL has three main divisions:

Division of Digital Curriculum Development – focuses on the development of online course materials and learning structures.

Division of Digital Operations – manages the operations, support systems, and platforms for online and distance learning.

Division of Self-Instructional Material Design – specializes in designing self-learning content for effective independent study.

CODL offers various services such as:

iStudio recording for lecturers and students

Training room and meeting room usage

Support for online and hybrid learning

Technical assistance with platforms like ULearn and Office 365
CODL now has a recording studio iStudio complete with various facilities to meet the needs of lecturers at UTeM providing teaching and learning materials in the form of video. Lecturers can get video recording help in iStudio.
Recording assistance applied must have relevance in the provision of teaching and learning materials only. Duration of video recording can be done in short or long time depending on the needs of the lecturer.
To book an iStudio room, please contact UTeM CODL officer: En. Muhamad Azmi (06-229 2272/ [email protected]). Please make a reservation 3 days before the recording takes place.

There are three (3) ways to reset your email password:
1. Via the MyUTeM Application
- Log in to the MyUTeM App
- Open the menu at the top left corner
- Select Change Password
- Enter a new password
- Choose the “E-Mail” option and confirm the “Change Password“
- Check the Activity Log and ensure the status shows Successful
2. Via the Microsoft Website
- Visit: https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com
- Follow the instructions to reset your Office 365 password
3. Via the CDO Helpdesk
